TOPIC: FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT; CONTENTMENT
TEXT: 1 TIMOTHY 6:6-10
KEY VERSE:” Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth”
–1 Timothy 6:6 NLT

The battle for contentment has been practically the oldest battle the scripture recorded man has fought. Our parents Adam and Eve fought this battle, when they where tempted of the devil with the forbidden fruit and they could not overcome, several others fought this battle, some lost while others won, one notable hero who conquered it is our father Abraham, against all odds he submitted his son as sacrifice even when he was the only covenant son.

In this present age and dispensation we as Christians find it difficult to submit our will of contentment to God. We fight from within with the inner desires for all manner of gains. As we reflect on today’s devotional, our lives must be kept in check as it concerns godly contentment, without that we’ll be forced into certain addictions and acts that will leave our souls wounded since we’ll be looking to gratify our cravings, wanting to compete with the world system.

Let’s keep this in mind we can not compete with the world system, with the world system just when you think you’ve seen it all another innovation pops up, be content.
Godly contentment is when we allow the spirit of God to suppress the flesh within us.
We brought nothing therefore we’re certainly going back with nothing.

PRAY WITH ME
Lord Jesus, give me grace to live in contentment, help me to live above temptations, amen.
