OUR DAILY REFLECTION WITH GOD
FRIDAY, June 27, 2025
TOPIC: RESPONSIBLE FOR THOSE IN BONDS
TEXT:
Hebrews 13:1-3
KEY VERSE: Remember those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them. Remember those who are suffering, as though you were suffering as they are.
Hebrew 13:3

One may really not understand the experience of those in bonds, except you have once been in that position or have someone who had the experience tell you the story. The writer of the book of Hebrew encouraged us to be unreserved and unlimited in our hospitality to all men.

While personal responsibility is essential, we all share moral responsibility for the societies we help to create. The Jewish theologian Abraham Joshua Heschel noted that in matters of social injustice, “Few are guilty, but all are responsible.” As followers of Christ, we are called to build better communities through our schools, churches, and businesses. We are part of the human family, God’s creation, and we must reflect God’s love and justice.

God is expecting us to shoulder and champion this course of making the world a better place, even standing with those who the society have mistreated.

PRAY WITH ME
Lord, guide us to build communities that reflect your compassion and justice, and to stand with people who are mistreated and forgotten. In Jesus, Amen.
