TOPIC: MY GOD IS A JEALOUS GOD
TEXT: EXODUS 34:12 – 15
KEY VERSE: For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:
Exodus 34:14
The God we serve doesn’t take His glory lightly, when God says “I am a jealous God, what he is saying is that we must give to Him our undivided attention we must give to Him glory that is due to His name.
Our reflection today points us to Gods commitment to us as His covenanted people.
Now, what we are talking about here is not like the human jealousy that is fueled by envy but rather it is propelled by His love and His devotion to His people much more than that of a committed husband to his wife.
As we reflect on this word today we need to be mindful of our daily living we must not live a life and carry out involvements that will end up attracting curses upon us and our children, even the ones unborn, the Lord said he visits the iniquities of those who hate Him even to the third and fourth generations.
All the the glory must be to the LORD, giving our attention to others, making covenants with strange personalities, accepting strange values because we are in this world therefore we want to do what we want is a risk of our existence and that of our children, and even those unborn, the LORD says we must destroy their evil alters get rid of anything that connects us to a strange entities that will provoke God’s jealousy.
PRAY WITH ME
Dear loving Father, I ask for mercy that you will help me not to provoke you to jealousy, in all my activities I will learn to keep away from those things that will draw me away from you, thank you blessed LORD, amen.
